Abstract

We investigated and compared the creative working climates of firms in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Data were obtained from managers and executives in both countries using a validated questionnaire (CCQ) developed by Ekvall and his colleagues in Scandinavia. The result of this study indicates that between these two countries, the firms in Qatar have enjoyed a more creative or innovative internal climate than those in Saudi Arabia. We found many (six of the ten) creative climate dimensions in which the Saudi managers needed to work on in order improve the internal climate of their firms. We also found one indicator, i.e. conflict, where the managers in both countries needed to work on in order to improve the climate. A practical implication of the finding is also provided.
